How to Reverse the Keypad Orientation on the GF Smart Lock
When installing the GF smart lock on certain glass doors, the keypad may appear upside down depending on the mounting position.
To fix this, the lock allows you to reverse the keypad orientation, placing the keypad at the bottom and the fingerprint sensor at the top.
This article explains exactly how to change the keypad orientation.
Important Before You Start
Please read these points before performing the steps:
You must reset the lock first before changing the orientation.
The commands will not work unless the reset has just been completed.
The default administrator password used during setup is 123456.
If the administrator password has been changed, use the current admin password instead.
Note: The lock must have the battery installed and powered on.
Step 1 – Reset the Lock
Ensure the battery is installed in the lock.
Locate the reset button hole inside the battery compartment.
The reset hole is located at the top-right corner of the battery area.
Insert a pin or paperclip into the hole.
Press and hold the reset button until the lock resets.
After the reset completes, proceed immediately to the next step.
Step 2 – Reverse the Keypad Orientation
To place the keypad at the bottom and the fingerprint sensor at the top, enter the following sequence on the keypad:
123456 # 56 # 2 #
After entering the command, the keypad orientation will change.
Note:
It may take more than one attempt for the command to register.
If it does not work the first time, repeat the sequence again.
Returning to the Default Orientation
If you want to return to the default layout (keypad at the top and fingerprint sensor at the bottom), enter:
123456 # 56 # 1 #
This will restore the original keypad orientation.
Default Administrator Password
During initial setup, the lock uses the following default administrator password:
123456
If this password has been changed during installation, you must use the updated administrator password instead of 123456.
