How to Keep Your Smart Lock Open for Guests (Passage Mode Explained)

Whether you’re hosting a party at home, running an office event, or managing a rental property, there are times when you don’t want to keep unlocking the door again and again.

Instead of:

Constantly unlocking from the app
Sharing your personal passcode
Walking back and forth to the door

You can simply use Passage Mode in the TTLock app.

What Is Passage Mode?

Passage Mode allows your smart lock to remain unlocked for a period of time that you choose.

During that time:

The door stays unlocked
No codes are required
Guests can enter freely

Once the set time ends, the lock automatically returns to normal secure mode.

🛠 Renovations or contractors on-site

Option 1: Scheduled Passage Mode (Recommended for Events)

You can schedule Passage Mode directly inside the TTLock app:

Open your lock settings
Turn Passage Mode ON
Select the specific days
Choose a start and end time

Example:

Saturday from 5:00pm to 10:00pm.

During that period, the door will remain unlocked.

After 10:00pm, it automatically returns to normal locked mode.

This is ideal when you want convenience without forgetting to re-secure the door.

Option 2: Long-Term Passage Mode (Extended Open Access)

If you need the door to stay unlocked for a longer period (for example during renovations, exhibitions, or multi-day events), you can activate a long-term form of Passage Mode.

Follow these steps carefully:

Set Passage Mode to ON in the app
Unlock the lock once to activate it
Confirm the door is fully unlocked
Remove the batteries

The lock will now remain unlocked long-term.

In this state:

It cannot be force locked by holding the # (hash) key
It will stay open until batteries are reinserted

When you’re ready to return to normal operation:

Reinsert the batteries
Adjust Passage Mode in the app if needed
