Built in WiFi Models: Code Stuck in “Adding” Status and Lock Not Syncing to Server

Summary

Some built-in WiFi models may show a code stuck in the “Adding” status in the TTLock app. The lock does not fetch this new code from the TTLock server when it wakes, so the code never becomes active.

This behaviour occurs when the lock has previously been connected to a TG-SP gateway, and the gateway is later removed. After removal, the lock may fail to return to its direct WiFi connection, leaving it unable to sync with the server.

Symptoms

Users may report one or more of the following:

  1. A newly created code stays in “Adding” and never becomes “Success”.
  2. The lock shows offline in the app.
  3. Pressing the keypad does not wake the WiFi connection.
  4. The lock does not sync any changes from the TTLock server.
  5. The issue appears after a TG SP gateway was added and then removed.

Cause

Built in WiFi models can operate in two modes:

  1. Direct WiFi
  2. Gateway mode (when paired to a TG-SP gateway)

When the lock is paired with a TG-SP gateway, it switches to using the gateway as its communication path. If the gateway is later removed or powered off, the lock does not automatically fall back to direct WiFi. This leaves the lock in an orphaned state where: • It is no longer connected to the gateway, and • It is not reconnected to the WiFi network, so it cannot reach the TTLock server to retrieve pending codes.

Verification Steps (For Support)

Ask the user to confirm:

  1. Did you ever connect a gateway to this lock?
  2. Did you remove or unplug the gateway recently?
  3. Does the lock show offline even after pressing the keypad?
  4. Does the code stay stuck in “Adding”?

If the answer to any of these is yes, the issue is this known behaviour.

Resolution

The fix is straightforward:

1. Reconnect the Lock to WiFi

On site, the user must:

  1. Open the TTLock or Simpled app.
  2. Connect to the lock via Bluetooth.
  3. Go to Settings.
  4. Select WiFi.
  5. Reconnect the lock to the WiFi network.

Once the WiFi is reconnected:

  • The lock will immediately sync with the TTLock server.
  • All codes stuck in “Adding” will switch to “Success” within a few seconds.

Preventing This Issue

Until a firmware update is released, advise:

  1. Do not connect a TG SP gateway after already setting up direct WiFi unless you intend to keep the gateway permanently.
  2. If a gateway is removed, always manually reconnect the lock to WiFi via the app.
