Why is my thumb print not always getting picked up?

A valuable tip to significantly enhance your experience with the fingerprint reader on your Simple Slim Series lock is to register your fingerprint multiple times.

We’re excited to share a valuable tip that can significantly enhance your experience with the fingerprint reader on your Simple Slim Series lock: Register Your Fingerprint Multiple Times.

Variability Factors: Temperature, angle, and skin conditions (like moisture or dirt) can all impact the fingerprint reader's performance. By registering your fingerprint at slightly different angles, you increase the chances of successful recognition. In fact, with three entries, your lock will recognize one of them nearly 100% of the time!

How to Register Multiple Fingerprints

Step 1: Use Your Thumb
We suggest using your thumb for registration, as its larger surface area makes it easier for the reader to capture your unique fingerprint lines.

Step 2: Access the App

  • Open the app and select your front door lock.
  • Navigate to the Fingerprints section.

Step 3: Add Fingerprints

  • Select Add Fingerprint. When prompted, name each entry (e.g., "YourName_1", "YourName_2", "YourName_3") to differentiate them in your logs.
  • Follow the prompts to place your thumb on the sensor multiple times for each registration.

Step 4: Repeat for Each Registration
After adding the first entry, go back to add the second and third, following the same process. This ensures that at least one of your three fingerprint variations will be recognized, making access smoother.

For Fingerprint Faults

If you experience any issues, please consider the following guidance:

  • Ensure your finger is clean and dry, avoiding moisture, lotions, sweat, oils, cuts, or dry skin.
  • Gently press on the sensor, covering it entirely. Adjust finger placement if recognition fails.
  • Use the same registered finger for setup and enroll multiple fingers as needed.
  • Register the same fingerprint multiple times to improve recognition accuracy.
  • Check for any damage to the sensor, such as scratches.
  • Ensure fingers are neither too wet nor too dry; allow them to dry or use moisturizer as needed.
  • Straighten and flatten fingertips during recognition to enhance accuracy.
  • If issues persist, please reach out for further assistance.

Note: Temporary factors like exercise, showering, swimming, or cooking may affect recognition.
