What if my door is extra thick (over 100mm)

To ensure a proper fit for your lock, please note that our largest spindle and screws kit accommodates up to 100 mm, which may not be sufficient for some doors. Your fitter may need to purchase additional items from a hardware supplier

For SF and SFS models

Your fitter will need:

  1. An 8 mm x 150 mm solid spindle
    Example: 8mm Solid Spindle

  2. For the top screw stub:
1 x M5 screw, measuring between 90-105 mm (any screw within this length range should work).

  3. For the bottom screw stub:
1 x M5 screw, measuring between 110-125 mm (any screw within this length range should work).

For visual consistency, it is advisable to select screws in the same color.

Formula for the EF Model

Determining Spindle Size for SF/SFS/HF Locks

To find the right spindle size when it exceeds the expected length, follow these steps:

  1. Calculate the Acceptable Spindle Size:
    • Add 3 cm and 3.5 cm to the thickness of your door.
    • The spindle thickness is 8 mm.

Example: For a 12 cm Thick Door

  1. Add 3 cm:
    12 cm + 3 cm = 15 cm

  2. Add 3.5 cm:
    12 cm + 3.5 cm = 15.5 cm

Acceptable Spindle Size Range: 15 cm to 15.5 cm

Determining Screw Sizes

  1. Top Screw Size:

    • Subtract 1.5 cm from the door thickness:
      12 cm - 1.5 cm = 10.5 cm
    • Subtract 3 cm from the door thickness:
      12 cm - 3 cm = 9 cm

Top Screw Size Range: 9 cm to 10.5 cm

  2. Bottom Screw Size:

    • Add 2 cm to the top size range:
      • From 9 cm:
        9 cm + 2 cm = 11 cm
      • From 10.5 cm:
        10.5 cm + 2 cm = 12.5 cm

Bottom Screw Size Range: 11 cm to 12.5 cm

Summary for a 12 cm Thick Door:

  • Spindle Size: 15 cm to 15.5 cm
  • Top Screws: 9 cm to 10.5 cm
  • Bottom Screws: 11 cm to 12.5 cm
