My Lock has frozen, what should I do?

Our smart locks are rated for -10°C to 55°C, but condensation from the keyhole can vary by location. This moisture may enter the lock barrel and clutch, potentially causing issues.

Using the Emergency Key

If using the Emergency key, be very persistent and firm for up to a minute, as the cylinder can become stiff and hard to turn to its full extent.

Diagnostic test

Does the lock function normally when it has thawed out in the early afternoon? (Please avoid using a hairdryer to speed up the thawing as that intense heat can damage the electrical components).

Preventing future freezing

If condensation has been demonstrated in the specific lock location

When the lock is fully thawed out, consider using an Air Duster to dry out the lock.
